Veda Hardin Joiner Hobbs, 69, of Rector, Ark., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Rector.
Born Dec. 15, 1935, in Boydsville, Ark., daughter of the late William and Minnie Holifield Hardin, she was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include four sons, Randy Joiner and wife, Maxine, of South Haven, Miss., Jerry Joiner, of Paragould, Ark., Shayne Hobbs and wife, Jennifer, of Conway, Ark., and Nick Hobbs and wife, Barb, of Rogers, Ark.; one daughter, Cheri Shelton and husband, Barry, of Paragould; nine grandchildren, Seasons Shelton Rice, Shaylie Shelton Vines, T.J., Ginny, Amberly and Krystal Joiner, Chris Sumler, and Corbin and Kearsten Hobbs and six great-grandchildren, Blaine and Blayre Rice, Keely, Kade and Hailey Joiner, and Bridger Vines.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Vonda Hardin Cossey Boone and one brother, Billy Byron Hardin.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Wooldridge, Sonny Childs and Ken Roden officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
Pallbearers are Bobby Tracer, Buddy Fahr, Todd Ford, Gary and Scott Shockley and Harry L. Snyder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Woodland Heights Cemetery Trust Fund, Paragould Childrens Home or St. Bernards Hospice.
