Alice Maxine Hawkins, 78, of Kennett, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born March 7, 1926, in Arbyrd, Mo., daughter of the late Lexi Lee and Mamie Thrognorton Taylor, she was employed at Emerson Electric. She was of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 11, 1943, in Jonesboro, Ark., she married Prentice Hawkins, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Coleman and husband, Jerry, of El Dorado, Ark.; one son, Gary Hawkins, of Kennett; one sister, Melba Harris and husband, Tommy, of Senath, Mo.; one brother, Dean Taylor and wife, Loretta, of Kennett; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Don Slatton officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery at Senath.
Pallbearers were Tom Harris, Bud Toombs, David Malone, Jerry Coleman, Larry Smotherman and Chris McAtee.
