Marjorie Bell, 83, of Gideon, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born May 17, 1921, at Gideon, a daughter of the late James "J.W." and Lucy Davis Stratton, she was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church at Gideon.
In 1935, she married Raymond Orton who preceded her in death in 1956. On July 10, 1961, at Doniphan, Mo., she married Vernon Bell who died June 8, 1992. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Lee Orton and Tommy Keith Bell; two brothers, J.B. Stratton and John Stratton; two sisters, Edna Bolen and Othine Whitehead; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan D. Smith and Coleman Alvis Earnheart.
Survivors include one son, Donald Orton of Williamsville, Mo.; two daughters, Norma J. Smith and Sandra Johnson, both of Gideon; one step-son, Tommy Bell, of Gideon; one step-daughter, Judy Hesselbein of Dexter, Mo.; four brothers, Fred Stratton of Brosley, Mo., J.L. Stratton, Everett Stratton and Myrlen Stratton, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three sisters, Lou Tabb of Brosley, Estell McElvoy of Malden, Mo., and Beatrice Kilgore of Safford, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Mike Kolbaker and Jim Hoyt.
Burial was in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton, Mo.
