Jerry Gene Rice, 54, of Kennett, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Born Aug. 31, 1950, in Gideon, Mo., son of Dawsey Rice, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and the late Imogene Madden Rice, he was a carpenter and a member of the First Baptist Church of Affton.
On Dec. 29, 1991, in St. Louis, he married Marva Butler, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include three half-brothers, Richard Norris and Kenny Hargrove, both of Kennett and D.J. Rice, of Seattle, Wash. and four half-sisters, Sherry Taylor, of Dexter, Brenda Walker, of Wichita, Kan., Billie Jean Davis, of Florida and Gina Null, of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Deborah Poe,
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dana Burris officiating.
Burial will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
