Born Feb. 23, 1917, in Corning, Ark., son of the late Thomas Cleveland and Beulah King, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was a general contractor and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene King, of Rector; one daughter, Marilyn Louise King Walters, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Mary Louise Martin and husband, Fred, of Decatur Ala. and two grandchildren, Candoce Lee Walters and Angela Nicole O'Connor.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Mike Polk officiating.
Burial was in the Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector.
Pallbearers were Joe Morgan, John Estes, Maurice Harps, Tommy Wagster, Ron Benson, Keith Hill and Don Moseley.
