Author Tommy Tenney to speak

Multi-million selling author, Tommy Tenney, will be at the First United Pentecostal Church on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. The church is located at 1015 Kennett Street.

Tenney is the author of The God Chasers series. These include, "God's Favorite House", "The God Catchers", "God's Eve View", and "The Prayers of a God Chaser." He is also author of another series of books on unity, including "God's Dream Team", "Answering God's Prayer", and "God's Secret to Greatness."

Prolific author with millions of books in print, Tenney has nine best-selling titles to date. His books have been translated into more than 40 languages and have been nominated for many awards including the "Gold Medallion Award" and "Retailers Book of the Year."

Tenney spent ten years in ministry and has spent over 20 years in itinerant ministry, traveling to more than 42 nations. He speaks in over 150 venues each year sharing his heart with many people. Three generations of ministry in his family heritage have given Tenney a unique perspective on ministry. He has a gifting to lead hungry people into the presence of God. He and his wife, Jeannie, understand the value of intimacy with God and humility in serving God's people.

"Tommy Tenney and his wife, Jeannie, are long friends back with my wife Priscilla," said Carroll McGruder, pastor of First United Pentecostal Church. "Wednesday I got a call from GodChasers in Pinewood, Louisiana asking if Tommy could come to our church on Sunday, Jan. 23."

Tenney has a crusade service in Park Hills, Mo. the night before.

"He has hundreds of invitations each year that he can not fulfill," said McGruder. "Our hope is that this, being an internationally known personality, is that his service will be something for everyone in the community."
