Rev. Russell Porter Bragg, 91, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Oct. 23, 1913, in Gideon, Mo., son of the late W. H. and Marie Walker Bragg, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, he was of the Baptist faith and was minister of many churches in the Kennett area. He was a member of the Masons, American Legion and he served as the Legion Chaplin.

On Feb. 16, 1935, in Kennett, he married Amanda Masterson, who preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1992. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Halie Bragg and one sister, Magolden Eubanks.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Laabs and husband, Clayton, Jr., of Columbia Station, Ohio; two grandchildren, Todd Lindstrom and Tracie Lees, both of Cleveland, Ohio and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jessie Lindstrom, both of Cleveland.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
