Marjorie Ledford

Marjorie Maxine Ledford, 79, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at the Caruthersville Nursing Center.

Born March 5, 1925, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late George Harrison and Johnnie Sanders Howard, she was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville.

On Aug. 11, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz., she married Allen William "Buddy" Ledford, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Vernice Taylor.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Aline Dudley, of Trenton, Tenn.; one son, David A. Ledford, of Caruthersville; one sister, Bernita Jo Daniels, of Steele; three grandsons, Russell Howard Dudley, of Niceville, Tenn. and Joseph and Jonathan Dudley, both of Trenton; one step-granddaughter, Kelly Cagle, of Caruthersville and four great-grandchildren, Jason, Patrick, Emma and Grace.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with Mike McDaniel officiating.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
