George Lee Loughary, 56, of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at his residence.

Born Oct. 15, 1948, in Parma, Mo., son of the late Clyde Edward and Pearl Shelby Loughary, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.

On April 5, 1984, in Gideon, he married Pearl Smart, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Lee Loughary, of Linn, Mo. and Lee Lee Loughary, of Gideon; one daughter, Jewell Johnson, of Malden, Mo.; two step-sons, David Garrison, of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Lee Garrison, of Malden; five step-daughters, Darlene Umfress and Linda Collis, both of Clarkton, Mo., Mary Jones, of Malden, Sherry Glass, of Holcomb, Mo. and JoAnn Fowler, of Gideon; three brothers, Elton Loughary, of Campbell, Mo., Luke Loughary, of Clarkton and Melvin Loughary, of Paragould, Ark.; one sister, Gardina Loughary, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jewell Rackley and Margaret Davis and four brothers, Jerry, Vernon, James and Harm Loughary.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial with military rites will follow at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton.
