Gladys Russom, 80, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.

Born Dec. 29, 1924, in Grubbs, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Pauline Grammar Pritchett.

On Jan. 19, 1946, in Kennett, she married Vernon Hugh Russom, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1958. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; three brothers and one granddaughter.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Collins, of Caruthersville; one son, Thomas Russom, of Vinton, Iowa; three brothers, Sammy Pritchett, of Dexter, Mo. and Robert and Junior Pritchett, both of Rives, Mo.; four grandchildren, Joan Gibson and Marlon Collins, both of Caruthersville, Renae Wells, of Walker, Iowa and Joy McGowan, of Vinton and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Johnny W. Marcrum, Jeffrey Gibson, Larry McCall, Adam Sipes, Marlon Collins and Timothy Corbin.
