Carlene Willbanks

Carlene Maxwell Willbanks, 72, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Jan. 7, 2005, at the Caruthersville Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 7, 1933, in Parsons, Tenn. daughter of the late Carl and Ola Mae Dodd Maxwell, she was employed at Brown Shoe Co.

She married Albert David Willbanks, who preceded her in death on May 22, 1977. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Willie and O.T.. Maxwell and one sister, Helen Maxwell.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra Bishop and husband, Roy, of Columbus, Ind.; two brothers, Bobby and Cleatus Maxwell, both of Caruthersville; three sisters, Imogene Wimberly, of Caruthersville, Lounell Watt, of Hayti and Shirley Godlove, of Topeka, Kan., and two grandchildren, Jason Boone and Candice Bishop, both of Columbus.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Jim Pilcher officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Tommy and Timmy Payne, Rodney Wimberly, Logan Swindle, Terry Eveland and Jared Pujol.
