Dorothy Lee Lewis, 73, of Gideon, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1931, in Octa, Mo., daughter of the late Ira and Rosie harp Tune, she was a member of the General Baptist Church in Clarkton, Mo.
On April 12, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., she married Richard Lewis, who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2003. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Flora Riley, Goldie Tippet, Mae Busby, Lula Belle Poe and Jessie Morgan; two brothers, Frank and William Tune and one grandson, Frankie Randolph Lewis.
Survivors include four sons, Murel Lewis, of Little Rock, Ark., Richard Lewis, of Gideon and Frankie and Denver Lewis, both of Clarkton; three daughters, Marilyn Elwood, of Colgate, Okla., Carolyn Muns, of Clarkton and Delinda Ray, of Gideon; four brothers, Cecil Tune, of Aurora, Ill., John Tune, of Manila, Ark., Calvin Tune, of Fort smith, Ark. and Eddie Tune, of Georgia; 26 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo. with the Revs. Wayne Gilmore and Andy Evans officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery at Clarkton.
