Maudie May McCaig, 75, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 15, 1929, at Wilson, Ark., a daughter of the late Ollie Andrew and Georgia Irene Horton Singleton, she attended school in Blytheville, Ark. and was a member of Jesus Name Tabernacle.
In 1943 she married Thomas Hugh McCaig who preceded her in death Mar. 31, 1964. On Mar. 30, 1980, she married Robert Earl "Bob" Simpson who preceded her in death May 12, 2003. She was also preceded in death by three sons, one daughter, two grandsons, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include 11 daughters, Cathy Scott of Wardell, Mo., Donna McCormick of Grand Chain, Ill., Demetra Barham of Licking, Mo., Maudie Herron of Camden, Tenn., Edith Scott of Paris, Tenn., Ronda Jean Cummings of Hayti, Mo., Rebecca Aydelott of Caruthersville, Lena Holloway of Kennett, Peggy Heauggauff of Paragould, Ark., Charlotte Hernandez and Joyce Nelson of Halls, Tenn.; nine sons, Charlie McCaig of Fisk, Mo., Billy Joe McCaig of Hayti, David McCaig, Roger McCaig, Herbert McCaig, Eugene McCaig, and Bobby McCaig all of Caruthersville, Wllie McCaig of Skull Bone, Tenn. and James McCaig of Moberly, Mo.; 62 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Jesus Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville with the Revs. Antonhy Stepp and John Stepp officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.
Pallbearers were Ricky Rudd, Curtis Hicks, James Simpson, Jim Simpson, John Hannah, Leroy Guy, Howard Greenway and Raymond Greenway.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of services.
