Lula Mae Thompson Spann, 63, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Dec. 9, 1941, in Clarksdale-Summer County, Miss., she was a daughter of the late Henry Douglas Thompson Sr. and Hattie Mae Lark Thompson and member of Gospel Temple Church in Caruthersville.
In 1965, in Ripley, Tenn., she married Ray Spann Jr., who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Wanda Lynnette and Kathy Ann Hamilton and husband, Calvin, of Hayti, Mo.; four sisters, Madelaine Thompson, Ruthie Daniel and husband, Benny, and Henrietta Watt and husband, James, all of Blytheville, Ark. and Donna Thompson of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Willie Thompson and wife, Dorothy, of Blytheville, Johnnie Thompson and wife, Ella Mae, of Stockton, Calif. and Curtis Thompson and wife, Sandra, of Baytown, Texas; and two grandchildren, Ayana and Rayshon Stringfellow,
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Faith Temple Complex COGIC in Hayti with Elder Roosevelt Thomas officiating.
Interment was in the Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Joe Thompson, Richard Bennett, James Bennett, Rickey Bennett, Kevin Bennett, and John Lee.
Honorary pallbearers were Willie Thompson, Curtis Thompson, Johnny Thompson and Willie Thomas.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of services.
