Mrs. Beal lived in Michigan from 1915 to 1973. Attended University of Michigan and became a Dental Hygienist for eight years. Was a Girl Scout leader for 13 years, and as Neighborhood Chairman received the "Thanks Badge", the highest award given to adults in scouting. She was baptized in 1934. She taught Bible School Junior High level for 20 consecutive years, provided work and social activities for her groups, and took them camping, etc. She was a member of Slicer Street Church of Christ. Was a Pioneer Member of Associates of Michigan Christian College (now Rochester College)- a group of women who have raised millions of dollars for Michigan Christian College, and was President of Livonia Chapter of Associates. Also served as counselor at Camp Omagh Church Camp in Canada.
Mrs. Beal was President of Ark-Mo Town and Country African Violet Club, member of Azalea Garden Club; for that club, she organized the photography Show for the Delta Fair, and continued as its chairman for five years. She was a life member of Women for Crowley's Ridge College, member of American Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. Beal has lived in Iowa, South Dakota, Oregon, Arkansas, Michigan and Missouri. Traveled 17 foreign countries and 48 states of the United States.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Caldwell and her husband, Finis of Kennett, Missouri; six grandchildren, Tim, Garrett, Craig, Jeremy and Kerry Caldwell and Christine Harris; four great-grandchildren, Jade, Travis, Brandy and Jordynn Caldwell; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Berry of Ohio and Fern Berry of Florida; lifetime special friends, Carolyn Leonard Huebner and Janice Leonard Muse and other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers, Harold, Dee and Wayne Berry.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby and Finis Caldwell officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Tim, Garrett, Craig, Jeremy and Kerry Caldwell and David Harris.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Azalea Garden Club.
