Born Oct. 7, 1926, in Memphis, Tenn., son of the late Sam Houston and Ethel Lewis Brown, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and worked for the telephone company. He was a member of the Hornersville Methodist Church and the Hornersville Masonic Lodge No. 215 AF&AM.
On Feb. 28, 1944, in Osceola, Ark., he married Syble Gamble, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Keith Brown, of Sikeston, Mo.; three daughters, Carole Roussel, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Ruth Ann Frewin, of Lebanon, Tenn. and Karen Rogers, of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters, Margie Pierce, of Byron Center, Mich., Betty Bendix, of Benton Harbor, Mich. and Cecil Craig, of Watervliert, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Brown and one brother.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 14, at the Bradshaw Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Hornersville Methodist Church with the Revs. Jim Hogue and Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Bobby Jones, Brad Benson, Leonard Glueck, Richard Shelton, Tommy Gamble and Raymond French.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Langdon and Tommy Wilkins.
