Colene Mae Bennett, 88, of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Jan. 11, 1916, in Gideon, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Bessie Quinn Pope, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
On Sept. 1, 1934, in Gideon, she married Samuel Aimel Bennett, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one son, Wyman Bennett; two sisters, Thelma Reeves and Blanche Kitchen and two brothers, L.R. and Harlan Pope.
Survivors include one son, Steven Bennett and wife, Carol, of Apple Valley, Minn.; two sisters, Gladys Wilhelm, of Gideon and Lucille Lewis, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jason Bennett, of Parkville, Mo., Dax Bennett, of Plymouth, Minn., Tammie Smith, of Gillett, Wy. and Beth Poitra, of Hazen N.D. and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Andy Evans officiating.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.
