Jimmy Ross Shown, 71, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Oct. 8, 1933, in Paraquete, Ark., son of the late Charlie and Bertie Hodges Shown, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, a farmer and an employee of Emerson Electric in Kennett.

Survivors include two sons, Donnie Shown, of Cookeville, Tenn. and Dr. Tim Shown, of Jonesboro; one daughter, Angie Shown, of Jonesboro; one brother, Paul Shown, of Junction City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vannesa Potter; two brothers, Virgil and Charles Shown; one sister, Rosalyn Sanders and one grandson, Barron Shown.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jeff Smith, Gene and John Sanders, E.B. Ashabranner, Toby Stoker and Todd Davis.
