Bertha Verdier, 83, of Murphy, N.C., formerly of Kennett, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at Murphy.
Born Mach 11, 1921, in Clay County, Ark., a daughter of the late Clarence Ervin and Grace Jackson Green, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murphy.
She married Howard Lee Verdier who preceded her in death Sept. 16, 2004.
Surviving are one son, Bob Verdier and wife, Diane, of Murphy; one daughter, Pat Field and husband, Jack, of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Leo Green of Spindale, N.C. and Bill "Buck" Green of Kennett; four sisters, Geneva Ruggeri, Genalda Martin and Peggy Green, all of Kennett and Anna Ray Dickerson of Oakland, Calif.; six grandchildren, Susan Pullis and Scott Verdier of Longwood, Fla., Kimberly Joyce of Geneva, Fla., Kelly Campbell of Orlando, Fla., Cheryl Hudson of Johnston, Iowa and Gary Keller of Overland Park, Kans. and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today, Sunday, Nov. 21, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gary Henson officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
