Lillian Mason

Lillian Mason, 65, of Hayti, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at the Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind.

Born June 30, 1939, in Hayti, she was the daughter of Sendney Mason of Elkhart, Ind., and the late Tim D. Mason Sr. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Hayti where she served as secretary of missions, president of the usher board, member of the building fund committee, trustee board and the program committee. She was retired from Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.

Survivors include three daughters, Carol Taylor and husband, Edward, of Hayti, Marlene Reed and husband, Otis, and Paula Mason and husband, Curtis, all of Elkhart; three sons, Marvin Mason and wife, Mona, Tony Lee and Steven Mason and wife, Lois, all of Elkhart; her mother; five sisters, Dorothy Wilson, Lois Harper, Grace Steward and husband, Johnny, all of Elkhart and Mary Kelleybrew and husband, Ernest, of Hayti and Arlean Jones and husband, Carl, of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Tim Mason Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Elkhart; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Edward Charles Lee.

Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at the Hayti School Multipurpose Building in Hayti. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the school with the Rev. Luther Butler Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Borders, Tommy Davis, Henry T. Newman, Lawrence Newman, Ricky Tipler and Willie Lee.
