Mary "Aileen" Summers, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Kennett Dialysis Center in Kennett.
Born July 19, 1920, in Campbell, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Spieler Eaton. She graduated from Campbell High School. She taught Sunday School, worked in youth camp and other Mission Society work and volunteered at the Campbell General Baptist Nursing Home. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden.
On July 5, 1939, she married A.O. "Shorty" Summers in Campbell. He preceded her in death Aug. 23, 1978. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, D.W. Summers and wife, Barbara, of Malden and Garian Summers and wife, Gail, of Kingman, Ariz.; one sister, Pauline Allen of Campbell; two grandchildren, Shawn Summers and wife, Denise and Tara Hope Pickard and husband, Mark, all of Malden; and two great-grandchildren, Shawn Christopher Summers Jr. and Jackie Summers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 19, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. David Wigger officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
