Ethel Wave Darnell, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Nov. 21, 1913, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of the late Frank George and Sara Freels George, she was a homemaker and a member of the Wood Springs Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
On Oct. 29, 1929, in Blytheville, Ark., she married James Riley Darnell, who preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2001. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include three daughters, Jerri Vincent, of Jonesboro, Sheri Mauney, of California and Shirley Gordon, of Florida; one son, Shank Darnell, of Jonesboro; 8 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Glen Hurst officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Darnell, Wayan Hall, Neely Mitchell Jr., Gary Bruton, Ryan Darnell and Jackie James.
