Velma Lee Simmons, 64, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Nov. 16, at her residence.
Born March 21, 1940, in Puxico, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Helen Ford Tanner.
In 1953, in Morehouse, Mo., she married James Franklin Simmons, who preceded her in death in 1973.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Camacho and Della Tanner and one brother, Virgil Allen Tanner.
Survivors include four sons, James, Dickie and Sammy Simmons, all of Malden and Daniel Simmons, of Vadalia, Mich.; one sister, Marie Alaniz, of Puxico; two brothers, Larry Tanner, of Malden and Gary Tanner, of Puxico; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Powell officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
