Alberta Schell Ford, 85, of Hornersville, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Calhoun, Ga.
Born Nov. 14, 1918, in Hornersville, daughter of the late Monson P. and Rebecca L. Lomax Schell, she taught school 48 years in Dunklin County, was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hornersville and Delta Kappa Gamma.
On April 10, 1941, she married John Morrow Ford Jr., who preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1998. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Samuel Wilburn Schell and one sister, Agnes Branum.
Survivors include one son, John David Ford and wife, Glenda, of Calhoun, Ga., one brother, Monson Lee Schell, of Hornersville; one sister, Thelma Droke, of Hornersville; three grandchildren, Rebecca Rachel McEntyre, John Mark Ford and Thomas Leighton Ford; two great-grandchildren, Amber Schell McEntyre and Caden Robert Ford and her caregivers, Louise Gilbreath and Arlene Brandon.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at the United Methodist Church in Hornersville with the Rev. Jim Hogue officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were nephews, Joe Droke, Sammy Branum, Jimmy Schell, David Branum, Kevin Branum, Craig Branum, Jerry Branum, Dubber Ford, Steve Ford, Denny Ford, Buck Allen Ford, Henry Hadley Ford, Brad Branum, Bart Branum, Brad Eddington, Scott Hutchison, Jeremy Schell, Sean Droke, Chris Droke Berry, Wade Branum, Jason Branum and Cale Branum.
The family suggests memorials to the Hornersville or Coldwater Methodist Churches.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
