Virginia Blake

Virginia Mae Blake, 79, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Malden Nursing Center.

Born Jan. 29, 1925, in Jonesboro, Ark., daughter of the late Samuel Arthur and Virginia "Elizabeth" Reynolds Quick, she was a member of the 2nd Southern Baptist Church in Malden.

On Nov. 26, 1943, in Liberty, Mo., she married Elmer Gerald Blake, Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1978. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, John Paul, Samuel Keith, George Dale and Jesse Doyne Quick and two sisters, Maggie Lucille Robinson and Florence Alline Hinds.

Survivors include two sons, Elmer Gerald Blake, Jr. and wife, Sharon, of Malden and Arthur Neal Blake and wife, Esther, of West Plains, Mo.; three daughters, Debra Lynn Workman, Eugenia Ann Hendrickson and husband, Danny and Brenda Kay Riddell and husband, Leonard, all of Malden; one sister, Evelyn Dickens, of Cuba, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Jerral Clark officiating.

Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Malden.
