Carlton F. Brown, 77, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at the University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Born Jan. 21, 1927, in Kennett, he was a U. S. Navy veteran having served in WWII. He was a driver for Motor Convoy and of the Methodist faith.

He married Peggy Shewmaker, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Philip Brown; two daughters, Pamela Hertweck and husband, Clyde, and Stephanie Holten and husband, David; one sister, Mary Emma Nunley, of Kennett; five grandchildren, Robert Hertweck, Cindy Watson, Jessica Brown and Brooks and Maxim Holton and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
