Wilma Loretta Sawyer Butler, 74, of Senath, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004 at her home.
Born June 3, 1930, in Harlingen, Texas, she was a daughter of the late James Oscar and Jennie Ethel Knuckles Braden.
In June 1948 she married Lee Sawyer who preceded her in death. On May 4, 1969, in Senath, she married Claude Butler who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Barry Sawyer, step-mother, Lois Braden, two brothers, Olin "Butch" Braden and Elvis Braden and a sister, Bonnie Hyde.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Sawyer and wife, Lydia, of Round Rock, Texas, James Sawyer and wife, Kathy, of Austin, Texas and Larry Sawyer and wife, Mona, of Senath; one step-daughter, JoNell Scott of Arbyrd; two brothers, Nolen "Slim" Braden of Pollard, Ark. and James Sidney Braden of Senath; one sister, Georgia Marie Benfield of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, October 23, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with the Rev. Derek Combs officiating.
Burial was in Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew and Jamie Sawyer, Ryan Hunter, David Braden, Joel Sawyer and Bud Brooks.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
