Born March 30, 1918, in Bruce, Miss., he was the son of the late Lonnie Talmadge and Ammie Inez Eubanks Tims. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of the area as well as a member and Deacon of the Number Nine Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 3rd Calvary, 71st Division during World War II.
He was married to Wanda Carmichael Tims who preceded him in death in 1997. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Crosskno; and one sister, Ruby Sanders.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelia Rhoads and husband, Benny, of Springfield, Mo., and Vickie Stubblefield of Cooter, Mo.; one son, Don Tims and wife, Debra, of Cooter, Mo.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 22, at the First Baptist Church in Blytheville, Ark., with the Rev. Charles Hurley officiating. Burial was in the #8 Cemetery in Cooter, Mo. Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, Ark., was in charge of arrangements.
