Donnie Wayne Freeman, 50, of Steele, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, in Kennett.
Born July 7, 1954, in Blytheville, Ark., he was the son of Opal Caviness Freeman Eatmon of Blytheville, Ark., and the late Curtis Clark Freeman. He was a member of the Steele Church of Christ and worked as a job placement representative for the Missouri Workforce Development Center in Kennett.
On Oct. 8, 1977, he married Rita Kaye Kellems in Steele, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include one daughter, Melissa Cassidy and husband, Phillip, of Steele, Mo.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Wanda Kellems of Steele, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Gary Kellems and wife, Renee, of Steele, Mo.; one nephew, Christopher Kellems of Steele, Mo.; a grandmother-in-law, Catherine Kellems of Steele, Mo.; and five step-siblings, Steve Eatmon and wife, Jeanette of Blytheville, Ark., Jean Walker and husband, Eddie, of Pryor, Okla., Jeanette George of Wynne, Ark., Joan Crowson and husband, Jimmy, of Kennett and James Eatmon and wife, Carolyn, of Phoenix, Ariz.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Steele Church of Christ in Steele, Mo., with John Mundy officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Mo.
Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home of Steele, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
