Born Dec. 3, 1920 at Verden, Okla., he was a son of the late William Walter and Dixie Lee Brownen Hodge, a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the Missouri Highway Department. He was of the Baptist faith.
On May 27, 1939, at New Madrid, Mo. he married Glendola L. Uhles who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Henrietta Auston and husband, Ferrell, of Bell City, Mo. and Wanda Sparks and husband, Jim, of Malden, Mo.; one sister, Anita Jacques of Shawnee, Okla; three grandsons, Dax Sparks of Lennon, Mich., Steven Austin, Sikeston, Mo., and Justin Austin, of DePew, Okla.; one granddaughter, Wyn Etta Weeks of Sikeston and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Hodges, Monroe Hodges, Dennis Hodges and DeLeon Hodges.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Bradshaw Funeral Chapel in Malden.
Burial, with full military rites, was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
