Cleatis Wayne McCain, 64, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at his residence.

Born Oct. 12, 1939, in Truman, Ark., son of the late Chester Thomas and Agnes Beatrice Thompson McCain, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a truck driver and a Jehovah's Witness.

On Sept. 7, 1965, in Greta, La., he married Versie Stanley, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three sons, Mark Stewart Brindley, of Las Vegas, Nev., Gregory McCain and wife, Peggy, of Mt. Vernon, Ill. and Cleatis McCain, Jr., of Malden; four daughters, Katherine Lisa Caldez and husband, Lloyd, of New Orleans, La., Angelia Marie Brindley, of Oakland, Calif., Sonia Ellis and husband, Allen, of Brookland, Ark. and Terri Inzer and husband, Lloyd, of Truman, Ark.; one brother, James McCain, of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Carolyn Mitchusson, of Macon, Ga.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Versie Mary McCain and one brother, Vernon McCain.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Brother Allan Laszewski officiating.
