J.B. Wilburn, 84, of Kennett, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Born Nov. 12, 1919, in Kennett, son of the late Brian and Nell Dean Wilburn, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, he was a funeral director and a member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ.

On July 12, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., he married Auvern Kirkland, who preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 1995. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Russell Wilburn and one granddaughter, Kimberly Wilburn.

Survivors include one daughter, Ernestine "Tina" Estraea, of Piggott; two sons, Jimmy Wilburn, of Greenway, Ark. and Haskell Wilburn, of LeRoy, Kan.; two brothers, Grady Wilburn, of Harrison, Mich. and Merle Wilburn, of St. Charles, Mo.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
