Leroy Jackson, 73, of Kennett, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born. Jan. 28, 1931, at Steele, Mo., a son of the late Kelley William and Oma Mae Dugger Jackson, he was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

On April 7, 1951, he married Jessie Ruth Waller, who preceded him ind eath on April 24, 1978. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Jackson and sister, Ethel Mae Pruitt.

Survivors include three sons, Dewayne Jackson of Warrensburg, Mo., Kenneth Jackson and Steven Leon Jackson of Kennett; one daughter, Fredia Christian of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two brothers, David Jackson of Little Rock, Ark., and Bobby Jackson of Kennett; two sisters, Nita Faye Dawson of Kennett and Pat Davis of DeSoto, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2:30 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 10, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
