Deering youth takes part in ASU agricultural student leadership conference

Jonathan Young, of Deering, Mo. was one of 35 students participating in a the Annual ASU College of Agriculture Student Leadership Conference on September 11, at the ASU Convocation Center, Jonesboro, Ark. The conference is designed to help new and returning student leaders prepare for activities in their student organizations and to give them some basis leadership skills that will help them throughout life. Many ASU graduates become active in leadership positions in the community or their profession.

Young is the son of Ron Young of Deering, and Cindy Price of Jonesboro, and is a 2002 graduate of Jonesboro High School. He is a junior majoring in agriculture business at ASU, and is a member of the FFA organization.

This year's conference presenter was Joe Waldrum of the LeadAR Program. John Andrews, a 1993 graduate of ASU, and a director of the Arkansas Farm Bureau, was the luncheon speaker.
