Shirley King Powers of Cordova, Tennessee and formerly of Hayti, Missouri, was born March 25, 1937, in Hayti, Missouri, and died September 21, 2004, in Cordova Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Cordova, Tennessee.
She was 67 years, 5 months and 27 days of age.
Shirley was a member of Hayti First Baptist Church, a 1955 graduate of Hayti High School and a graduate of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was an accountant for Elk Horn Bank & Trust in Arkadelphia before her retirement.
She was the daughter of the late Jack and Lillian Pauline Crosser King. She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Ruth King, and her three sons, Terry Charles Watts on August 11, 1983, Jerry Wayne Atchison on December 23, 1987 and Glen Edward Watts on September 15, 1999.
She leaves the following to mourn her passing: one daughter, Debbie Ann atchison Hollingshead and her husband, Kyle of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; one brother, Jackie Lynn King and his wife, Cathy, of Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren: Terry Cash, Heather Cash, Justin Marks, Allison Watts and Anna Watts and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, September 23, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Missouri, with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti, Missouri.
Pallbearers were: John Taylor, Kyle Hollingshead, Bobby Irions and Martin Ray.
