Born June 2, 1922, in Selmer, Tenn., he was the son of the late Charlie Stricklin and Ocie Banks Stricklin.
He was married to Lillie Mae Dempsey who preceded his death on Feb. 3, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Johnny and Willard Stricklin, and four sisters, Tete Thornberry, Mary Wickerham, Marie Ray and Fannie May Ray.
Survivors include his son, James Michael Stricklin of Wappapello, Mo.; three daughters, Pauline of Mich., Linda Gillihan of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Terrie Lynn Stricklin of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Gene Stricklin of Crystal City, Mo. and Laverne Stricklin of Dupo, Ill.; caregiver, Alice Stricklin Hill, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles James officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodland Heights Cemetary in Rector, Ark.
