William Levels, 75, of Kennett, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, at National Healthcare in Kennett.

Born Nov. 23, 1928, in Little Rock, Ark., son of the late John L. and Oma Mae Smith levels, he was a U.S. veteran, having served in WWII. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Campbell, Mo.

He married Louise Taylor, who preceded him in death on July 15, 1998. He was also preceded in death by four half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Survivors include one sister, Dorothy Cathey, of Galt, Calif.; one niece, Bessie Handley, of Kennett; one great-niece, Kim Fuller, of Piggott, Ark. and one great-nephew, Tom Jerrolds, of Leachville, Ark.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo. with the Rev. Don Slatton officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Anthony Montney, Tim and Robert Purl, Chris Handley, Earl Jerrolds and Jimmy Fuller.
