Jimmie Medlin, 92, of Gideon, Mo., died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at the Gideon Nursing Center.
Born March 29, 1912, in Tennessee, he was the son of the late Matthew and Hattie Sue Medlin.
On Nov. 25, 1932, he married Laura Slayton, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Kenneth Medlin, of Gray Summit, Mo., Paul Medlin, of Arnold, Mo. and Donald Medlin, of Clever, Mo.; seven daughters, Maxine Singleton, of Villa Ridge, Mo., Nadine Thompson, of Pacific, Mo., Shelby Cummings, of Deering, Mo., Linda Durbin, of Lynn, Mo., Brenda Slover, of Lewis, Ind., Retia Lance, of Malden, Mo. and Connie Willman, of Goodman, Mo.; one sister, Mary Sue Jones, of Ocala, Fla.; 35 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wilmer, Jack, Finis and Curan Medlin and one sister, Cecil Christian.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Patrick Singleton officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Joe Trower, John and Craig Thompson, Andrew and Anthony Bay and Scotty Pullam, Jr.
