William Busby

William Thomas Busby, 81, of Cooter, Mo. died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.

Born July 26, 1923, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of the late William Daniel and Sarah Saylors Busby, he was a U.S. veteran, having served in WWII. He was a self-employed electrician and carpenter and of the 7th Day Adventist faith.

He married Jean Tucker in Blytheville, Ark., who survives of the home.

Survivors also include five sons, Eugene Rinks, of Micola, Mo., Billy Rinks, of Capron, Ill. and Jimmy, Jackie and Tommy Busby, all of Cooter and three daughters, Deloris Boggan, of Cooter, Sheila Owens, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Sarah Constant, of Bertrand, Mo.; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Willie Rinks; two granddaughters, Peyton Helms and Heidi Rinks and many brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Damesworth officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
