Mary Pauline "Polly" Masters, 89, of Hayti, Mo., died Sept. 7, 2004. at the nursing home in Hayti.
Born Oct. 25, 1914, at Canton, Mo., a daughter of the late Herbert L. and Leanor Raine Condit, she taught school 38 years in Pemiscot County, the last 14 in the Caruthersville School District. A member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church, she directed the church choir many years. She was a member of Easter Star, Delta Rho Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Tuesday Night Bridge Club and a bowling league.
On Jan. 8, 1937, in Kennett, she married James Milburn Masters, who preceded her in death Feb. 11, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her son, James M. "Jim" Masters, Jr.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Tammy Williams and husband, Ralph, of Hayti; a daughter-in-law, Linda Travis of Hayti; three great-grandchildren, Tray Williams, Ashley Williams and Justin Trammell all of Hayti and two cousins, Louse Raine of Redlands, Calif. and C.W. Reed III of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiatings.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
Pallbearers were Danny Brown, Randy Crawford, Tommy Halford, Bobby Irions, Justia Trammell and Dan Travis.
