Pauline Simpson

Pauline N. Simpson, 76, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Feb. 29, 1928, at Atkins, Ark., a daughter of the late Odia and Bertha Cheaney Greer, she was a bookkeeper at Cotton Exchange Bank and affiliated with the Pruitt Street General Baptist Church.

On Sept. 1, 1956, at Piggott, Ark., she married Buford Simpson, who survives.

Other survivors are two daughters, Pam Simpson and Paula Simpson, both of Jackson, Mo., two half-brothers, Jack Greer and Ted Raines, both of California; three half-sisters, Rebecca Dittrich of California, Karen Shaw of Washington and Sandra Carroll of Oregon.

She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Hazel Thrasher; a sister, Irene James and half-brother, James Greer.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 12, at Woodland Heights Cemetery at Rector, Ark. with the Rev. Gary Gelsinger officiating.

Pallbearers will be Gary, Daryl and Doug Wilcoxson, John Bogle, Velivs Simpson and Richard Simpson.
