Halloween Toole Pace, 83, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Alamo Heights Nursing Home in San Antonio.

Born Oct. 31, 1920, in the Sumach Community, daughter of the late Richard and Lora Waddell Toole, she was a schoolteacher, having taught 15 years in Rives, Mo. and 20 years at Kennett South School. She was a member of the Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.

She married John Wallace pace, who preceded her in death in March of 1985. She was also preceded in death by one son, Herschel "Sonny" Pace; one sister, Rachel Robertson and three brothers, Richard "Dick" Toole, Clois Toole and Harrison Toole.

Survivors include one daughter Nancy and husband, Lt. Col. (ret.) Larry Blades; two sisters, Ernestine Mitchell, of Kennett and Earline Cobb, of Alpharetta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jackie Pace McCormick, of Senath, Mo., Kristin Blades, of Albuquerque, N.M., and John Blades, of Garden Ridge, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Lauren McCormick, of Kennett and Kaden Blades, of San Antonio and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Lee Powers, Dewayne Toole, James Toole, Robert Raines, Steve Boyers and Tommy Anderson.
