Mariane Riggs

Mariane Brigance Riggs, daughter of the late W.N. and Nettie Welch Brigance, was born October 16, 1922, in Decaterville, Tennessee and passed away September 6, 2004, at the National Health Care in Kennett at the age of 81 years.

She married C.P. "Pete" Riggs November 18, 1944. He preceded her in death August 16, 1992.

She is survived by one brother, Bill Brigance and wife, Anita, of Kennett, and by their two daughters, Dr. Carol Brigance, of Nixa, Missouri and Linda Collins and husband, Gerald, and their two sons, Chris and Ben Collins, of Kennett.

She is also survived by nieces, Ann Casiano, of Columbia, South Carolina; Francis McNeil, of Benton, Arkansas; Carolyn Simpson and Peggy Fogle, of Phoenix, Arizona; and Loretta Harrell, of Tucson, Arizona. Nephews surviving are Michael Riggs, Stephen Riggs, Royce Horton, DeWayne Horton and David Riggs, all of Phoenix, Arizona.

Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brigance, February 5, 1980.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with Rev. Wayland Tom and Rev. Dale Rickman officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Serving as pallbearers: Verlon Phelps, Russ Robinson, George Krone, John Wilcox, Randal Gibson and Greg Gibson.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Senath Assembly of God Church or to the charity of choice.
