Betty Jean Tipton, 66, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born Oct. 1, 1937, in Ravenden Springs, Ark., she was the daughter of Otho Mariott and the late Naomi Eldridge Mariott.

In 1956, she married Glenn Houltzhouser who died in June 6, 1996. She married Wayne Tipton in 1972 and he preceded her in death in Aug. 20, 1989.

Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Stroup and husband, Eric, Elizabeth Schatz and husband, Terry, Tammy Matney and husband, Mat, all of Clarkton; one son, Jerry Houltzhouser and wife, Michelle, of Clarkton; her father, Otho Mariott, of Ravenden Springs, Ark.; one brother, Jerry Mariott, of Jonesboro, Ark. and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Dale officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Malden, Mo.
