Alfred Cain, 99, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at the Jonesburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jonesburg, Mo.
Born Dec. 8, 1904, in Wheatley, Ark., a son of the late John Henry and Molly Lite Cain, he attended schools in Arkansas, was a farmer and worked for Brown Shoe more than 33 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Caruthersville.
On Sept. 10, 1926, in Blytheville, Ark. he married Opal Mae Allen who preceded him in death May 28, 1988.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Cain and wife, of Jonesburg, Mo.; seven grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Glennie Cain; one daughter, Dorothy Champion; three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Friday, August 20, at H.S. Smith Funeral Chapel in Caruthersville with Dr. James Adams officiating.
Burial was in Maple Cemetery.
Family members served as pallbearers.
