Elza Clay "Al" Forbis, 82, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Powe, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born Feb. 10, 1922, in Powe, Mo., son of the late William "Johnny" and Nora L. Jordan Forbis, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was retired from Genral Motors and was of the General Baptist faith.

On June 28, 1975, in Michigan, he married Carol See, who survives.

Survivors also include three step-sons, Terry Bader, James H. Bader, Jr. and William Bader; one brother, Dawsey Forbis, of Dexter and two sisters, Rose "Tot" Paddubny, of Oxford, Mich. and Gladys Cook, of Lapeer, Mich.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Naomi Forbis.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Black officiating.

Burial with military rites will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery 1st Addition in Malden.
