Simer Lindsey

Simer Edison Lindsey, 86, of Paragould, Ark., died Saturday, Aug.. 7, 2004, at his residence.

Born July 4, 1918, in Lexington, Tenn., son of the late Ernest and Flora Jones Lindsey, he was a farmer and of the Church of Christ faith.

On Nov. 28, 1940, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Vera Laverne Jones, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Thomas Gerald Lindsey and wife, Pat and Rayburn Gale Lindsey and wife, Delores, all of Paragould; one brother, Jerome Lindsey, of Memphis, Tenn. and two sisters, Nopal Holt, of Sears, Calif., and Christine Carter, of Burlington, N.J.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Lindsey and one grandson, Thomas Gerald Lindsey.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Darrell Austin officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
