Nadean Pelts, 86, of Kennett, died Friday, August 6, 2004, at Tiwn Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Feb. 7, 1918, at Kennett, a daughter of the late Robert and Ella Brotherton Height, she was a former city collector for Kennett and was affiliated with First Baptist Church of Kennett.

On Jan. 25, 1936, she married Byron "Barney" Roger Pelts who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Carroll Height and one sister, Naomi Hobbs.

Survivors include three sons, Robert Pelts and wife, Ellie, of Memphis, Tenn., Ron Pelts and wife, Phyllis, of Overland Park., Kan., and Don Pelts and wife, Betty, of Kennett; one daughter, Joella Harrell and husband, J.R., of Belton, Mo., eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Pelts, Karisa Pelts, Shanna Raines, Byron Pelts, Janatha Steen, Joe Don Harrell, Donnatha Pelts and Lisa Faulkner; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 4 p.m. today, Sunday, August 8, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Revs. Ed Jahnsson and Don Slatton officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers are Joe Don Harrell, Charles Steen, Jeffrey Pelts, Kevin Rains, Tim Faulkner and Byron Pelts.
