Mary Parkinson

Mary Cecelia Parkinson, 66, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Caruthersville Nursing Center.

Born Sept. 27, 1937, in Caruthersville, daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Mable Cecelia Nance Parkinson, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, Joseph Henry Parkinson, Jr. and wife, Kathryn, of Caruthersville and Oliver Norris Parkinson, of Humble, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvis Earl and Harold Clayborn Parkinson.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

Burial was in the Corning Cemetery at Corning, Ark.

Pallbearers were Gearl Adams, Jiggs Dodd, Floyd Smith, Jim South, Jimmy Reno and Dan Travis.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
