Irene Melton, 60, of Clarkton, Mo., died Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her residence.

Born May 3, 1944, in Clarkton, daughter of the late Norman and Thelma Hatton Hampton, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Madona Chapter.

On May 29, 1962, in Clarkton, she married Floyd H. Melton, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Pamela Allen and husband, Malcomb, of Clarkton; four sisters, Wanda Crowe and husband, Doug, and Vyrene Brown and husband, Wyman, all of Gideon, Mo., Jane Sullivan and husband, Leo, of Huntsville, Mo., and Joyce Robinson, of Clarkton; two brothers, Kenneth Hampton and wife, Debbie, and James Hampton and wife, Marilyn, all of Gideon and two grandchildren, Kortney Allen and Malcomb Allen, Jr., both of Clarkton.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Phyllis Allen, Sondra Kaye Hampton and Daisy Garcia.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Jack Allen officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
